The inhabitants of traditional, informal inner-city neighborhoods in Addis Ababa are forced to move to new houses outside the city limits. The intention of this project is to create an ALTERNATIVE OF LIVING that marries the traditional way of living with a new modern way of living. It offers an upgrading methodology that can easily be implemented in the current situation and that will provide conditions for survival and economic prosperity of the community and the neighborhood with minimal resources and without relocation.
